Early Childhood Unit
The Early Childhood Unit at A Children's
Place includes individual classrooms for 3-year-olds,
4-year-olds and
5-year-olds. The curriculum focuses on preparing each
child socially and, to an extent, academically, for
when they will start school. Each teacher prepares and
follows a monthly lesson plan for their classroom.
The structured schedule for these classrooms includes
a daily calendar that introduces the days of the week
and the months of the year. Our staff members also review
colors, numbers and the letters of the alphabet.
Each classroom also has centers for
blocks, puzzles, art and housekeeping skills. Children
are encouraged to play with each other in these centers
at scheduled times as well as during free play time.
Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students as
is an afternoon snack following nap.
