The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation
The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation helps Ephraim
McDowell Health maintain the services and advanced technology
that our patients expect and depend on. Because Ephraim
McDowell Health is a non-profit organization, we depend
on contributions from the community to help us meet
the health care needs of individuals in the communities
we serve. Financial gifts to the Ephraim McDowell Health
Care Foundation can help us to carry on those endeavors.
Gifts to the Foundation are used for physical plant
improvements, equipment purchases, new programs and
other purposes suggested by our donors. Donations are
not used to support the day-to-day operating expenses
of Ephraim McDowell Health. The Ephraim McDowell
Health Care Foundation also partners with the Central
Kentucky Cancer Program (CKCP) to meet the needs
of patients and families impacted by cancer.
Gifts enabled us to purchase equipment to perform hearing screenings on all infants born at Ephraim
McDowell Regional Medical Center and to offer outpatient screenings on infants born at other hospitals that do not provide this service. Gifts also provided play equipment at A
Children's Place, affording the children’s learning and development center to broaden the general health and physical fitness component of its program. Other gifts have provided bassinettes for newborns, pre-hospital transport patient monitoring equipment to Boyle County Emergency Medical Services and family paging equipment for the outpatient surgery waiting area. A major gift was provided toward the construction of Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and, in partnership with the Central Kentucky Cancer Program, provided the Cancer Care Center at the Regional Medical Center.
In addition, the Foundation has financed the enhancement
of the Emergency Department at Ephraim McDowell Regional
Medical Center, making ED visits more pleasant for
patients and their families.
Donations to the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation
are fully tax-deductible, to the extent allowed by law.
