Mobile Mammography Service

Mobile Mammography UnitBreast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women. Each year, one in every eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. All women are at risk for developing the disease. The good news is that a woman's chance of surviving breast cancer may be as high as 90 percent if it is detected early.

We offer a mobile mammography service that makes it convenient for women to have a mammogram, the best tool for identifying breast cancer in its earliest stages. Scheduling your mammogram on our mobile mammography unit offers many advantages.

Convenience and accessibility. Our mobile mammography unit travels to both corporate and community sites in 20 counties (Boyle, Adair, Anderson, Casey, Fayette, Garrard, Green, Jessamine, LaRue, Lincoln, Madison, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Taylor, Washington and Woodford).

Pleasant, private atmosphere. Unique features of our mobile unit include a waiting area, changing room and a mammography suite designed with your comfort and privacy in mind.

On-site registration. Once you arrive for your mammogram, you will register on the van and stay on the van until your mammogram has been completed. The entire process, including your mammogram, takes about 30 minutes.

Our mobile mammography unit is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the Food and Drug Administration under the Mammography Quality Standards Act.

All mammograms performed on the mobile mammography unit are read with the aid of the R2 Image Checker, a computer-aided detection system that can detect suspicious lesions that may not be seen with a typical mammogram screening. The R2 system is expected to increase the number of breast cancers detected early, possibly by as much as 20 percent.  This system is also expected to detect up to 70 percent of cancers that would not be found without the system.

For more information on our mobile mammography service, please email us or call (800)328-6560. If you would like to schedule a visit by our mobile mammography unit to your business or industry, please call (859)239-1401.
