Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital announces new board member, officers


Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, a service of Ephraim McDowell Health, announces a new member and new officers of its board of directors.  The new member is Robert Gaffney.  New officers are Sheree Gilliam, chair; Bill Demrow, vice chair; and June King Bastin, secretary/treasurer.


 


Gaffney, a Garrard County native who retired after 32 years in the utility construction business, currently works with DocuBit, a family-owned business.  He is an advisory director for Whitaker Bank and a member of the Board of Directors for the Garrard County Health Department.  He also is a deacon at Good Hope Baptist Church.  He and his wife, Mary, have one son and two grandchildren.


 


Gilliam is a Lincoln county resident who has worked 31 years at Inter-County Energy in Danville, where she currently is vice president of customer services.  She is a member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Stanford, where she has served as chair of the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.  She has been a youth leader at the church for more than 25 years and has also taught Sunday school and served as children’s church director.


 


Gilliam’s community involvement includes United Way, Relay for Life, March of Dimes, Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis and Big Brothers Big Sisters.  She was a member of the Fort Logan Hospital Capital Campaign Committee and served in 2006 as the president of the Board of Directors for the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.  She currently is a member of the Stanford Renaissance Board of Directors.  She and her husband, Don, have two daughters.


 


Demrow is Lincoln County’s new judge-executive and a funeral director associated with Fox Funeral Home in Stanford and Barnett & Demrow in Waynesburg for 30 years.  He has been Lincoln County’s coroner since 1986 and is a member of the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce, Pleasant View Baptist Church, Waynesburg Masonic Lodge, the Kentucky Medical Examiners Advisory Board, the Kentucky State Coroners Board of Directors and past member of the Kentucky Funeral Director State Board.  He is three times past president of Kentucky State Coroners Association and a member of the State Mass Fatality Response Team.  He and his wife, Debbie, have two children and three grandchildren.


 


Bastin is Lincoln County’s solid waste coordinator.  She is a member of Crab Orchard Christian Church and serves on the board of directors for the Lincoln County Fair.  She also is a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, the Lincoln County Extension Board, the Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and the Four Corners Homemakers Club and serves as treasurer for Lincoln County’s Relay for Life.  She and her husband, Marion, have two children and two grandsons.
