December 5, 2018 – Danville, Kentucky – Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital (EMJBHH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.  Donna Sue McGrath, LPN, a nurse in the Medical Surgical Department, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.  A resident of Mercer County, Sue has been caring for patients at EMJBHH for the past 15 years and served as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Mercer and surrounding counties for over 20 years.

She was nominated for the award by a patient’s family member that said, “Sue was the first to greet us in our room.  She was excellent in every way possible that a nurse could be.  We could not be more pleased with the care my daughter received while she was there. Sue was patient, kind, caring, and most of all loving to my child.  We cannot thank you enough for all that she did for us; we are so very grateful!”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.
