Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital (EMJBHH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Shonna Rice, RN, a nurse and House Supervisor, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Shonna has been caring for patients at EMJBHH for 24 years. The prior 14 years, she spent working as a nurse at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
She was nominated for the award by a co-worker that said, “Shonna always checks on staff through the night to see if they need anything and if she can help. On Christmas night her help and dedication in the emergency department ensured the night ran smoothly. She made what could have been a very stressful night tolerable.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell Facilities.
