Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center nurse recognized for extraordinary service

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.  Kim Hergenrother, LPN, a nurse in the Cardiovascular Unit at EMRMC, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.  A resident of Garrard County, Kim has been caring for patients at EMRMC for three years.

She was nominated by a patient’s wife that said, “I can’t say enough nice things about Kim.  She is truly an angel in disguise.  She made my husband and I feel so comfortable.  Kim went above and beyond her job.  Kim took me to the chapel in the middle of the night.  She was always so professional.  But at the same time, we felt that we have always known her.  Her kindness & generosity went beyond all measure.  Kim is not the kind of worker that demands to be seen.  She does everything in love & without acknowledgement.  Our health care system needs more people like Kim.  She will always have a special place in our hearts.  We were so impressed with the amount of care she showed.  What a wonderful person.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
