McDowell Place of Danville restricting visitors

Effective today (March 12), all outside visitors to McDowell Place of Danville are prohibited.  This decision was based on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recommendations for long-term care and follows with other area facilities.

Only visitors involved in the direct care or end-of-life care of McDowell Place residents will be permitted to enter the building.  Staff and individuals who are permitted to enter will continue to be screened at the front desk.

McDowell Place residents are also being asked to remain in the building in order to avoid potential exposure in the community. All non-essential transportation for residents is also suspended. All precautions being taken are being done for the safety of our residents.  For those with further questions about this illness, please call the Covid-19 Hotline at 1-800-722-5725, or visit the Centers for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
