Ephraim McDowell Health Announces Third Covid-19 Case

Ephraim McDowell Health announces it has received confirmation that a third person in Boyle County has tested positive at one of its facilities for the Covid-19 virus.  The individual is currently quarantined at home.

This brings to four the total number of cases for Boyle County at this time.  The other case was not tested at an Ephraim McDowell facility.

Ephraim McDowell Health has taken specific steps for the protection of our patients and Associates.  No visitors are allowed at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital or Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.  There are some exceptions such as births, passing patients, patient sitters and those who are power of attorney or health care surrogates for a patient.

Earlier today, the Regional Medical Center in Danville announced that the support person accompanying a laboring mother to the hospital must remain in the unit until the mother and baby are discharged, as a further precaution to protect patients.
