Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Nicole Pendygraft, a nurse in Critical Care Unit at EMRMC, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Nicole has been caring for patients at EMRMC for nearly seven years.
She was nominated by a patient’s spouse. The spouse said, “My wife was put on life support in critical condition and eventually put on dialysis, due to an infection that developed into pneumonia. Nicole did an outstanding job with taking care of my wife. She couldn’t have been in better hands anywhere else. I believe she deserves this award not only because of her work with my wife, but also because of her bedside manner and empathy with my son and me as well. She would walk us through step by step as she nursed my wife. I don’t think any of us would have made it through this without her.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
