Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital nurse recognized for extraordinary service

Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital (EMFLH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.  Michelle Payton, RN, a nurse in the Acute Care Unit at EMFLH, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.  A resident of Lincoln County, Michelle has been caring for patients at EMFLH for seven years and has worked at Ephraim McDowell since 1998.

She was nominated by several patients and coworkers.  One of the patients said, “I have been a patient at Fort Logan four times this year and each time I have had the pleasure of seeing this wonderful caregiver. She deserves an award. I was choked last Sunday on a piece of chicken and I believe Michelle’s quick action helped save my life. She is a jewel at Fort Logan as she is so concerned for her patients.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
