EMRMC Nurse Receives DAISY Award

Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.  Brooke Howard, a nurse in the Nursery at EMRMC, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Mercer County, Brooke has been caring for patients at EMRMC for 14 years.

She was nominated by a patient that said, “She was there for me when I needed her. She was there for me when I was a clueless first time mother. She was there for me during a time when I was very sleep deprived, and she was so caring. I had so many questions about my newborn child.  She caught something major that could have been easily missed and taught me things I needed to know, when I’m sure she didn’t have the time to do.  She gave me and my son the best care possible.  She is caring, compassionate, and a person I strive to be like.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program which honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
