McDowell Place of Danville commemorates National Assisted Living Week

A weeklong celebration kicks off on Sunday, September 11, and McDowell Place of Danville is joining tens of thousands of assisted living communities across the country for the festivities. National Assisted Living Week® – officially sponsored by First Quality in 2022 – continues through Saturday, September 17, and McDowell Place of Danville honors this year’s theme, “Joyful Moments.”  

“This year’s National Assisted Living Week allows us to celebrate and create new, special memories together,” said Susan Matherly, Director of McDowell Place of Danville. “‘Joyful Moments’ reflects the strong family connection between residents and staff while providing an opportunity for local communities to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living and learn more about this sector of long term care.”

In addition to all of our regular scheduled activities, special programs offered this week at McDowell Place of Danville include:

·         Annual Frank Lawson Memorial Car Show – Sunday, September 11, 2022, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. McDowell Place parking lot – open to the public (Entry fee is free. Proceeds from concessions and raffles to benefit Walk to End Alzheimer’s)

·         Performance by ballroom dancers from DANceVILLE – Monday, September 12, 2022 

·         “Live on the Patio” with Mike Archer – Monday, September 12, 2022

·         Dance Lessons by Lauren Kirk with DANceVille – Tuesday, September, 13, 2022

·         Visit with Benjamin, Love on a Leash – Thursday, September, 15, 2022

·         Family Night with Entertainment by Gift of Grace – Thursday, September, 15, 2022

·         Performance by the Danville Dulcimers, – Friday, September, 16, 2022
