The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation recently donated an Amtryke adaptive tricycle to a child who is engaged in rehabilitative services at Ephraim McDowell Kids Can Do Pediatric Therapy Center. This specialized type of tricycle allows individuals who can’t use a normal bicycle to exercise and enjoy rides with their friends and family. These custom tricycles are often outside the budget for most families due to the cost involved.
“Millie has been going to Kids Can Do since she was eight months old and she wouldn’t be where she is today without them,” said her mother, Danielle Forker. “This bike is wonderful because she can pedal and we can steer for her because she doesn’t have control with her arms yet.”
Laura Richard, director of the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation said, “We love being able to help individuals in the communities we serve, especially children. Special projects like this would not be possible without the support of our generous donors.”
The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation is a non-profit corporation that uses 100% of donations to fund projects throughout the Ephraim McDowell Health system and the communities it serves.
