Ephraim McDowell Health welcomes advanced practice provider, Sarah Overmyer, PA-C, to the Medical Staff. Sarah will start on January 4 and will join Dr. Cameron Henzman’s practice in interventional radiology located inside the Ephraim McDowell Specialty Center in Danville.
Sarah is board-certified and received her bachelor’s degree in natural science with an emphasis in athletic training from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. She earned her Master’s in physician assistant studies at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York. Her surgical training, with a focus in plastics, hand and microvascular surgery was completed at NYU and Bellevue Hospital, NYC.
Upon meeting her husband Michael Overmyer, a Danville native, Sarah moved to Kentucky where she became the first PA at Kleinert Kutz in Louisville and specialized in hand and plastic reconstructive surgery. Sarah transitioned to Baptist Neurosurgical Associates in Lexington and worked alongside the chief of neurosurgery, Dr. Steven Kiefer, for four years. Sarah is excited to bring her expertise and love of patient care to her community in Danville.
Sarah and her husband Michael have two sons: George (4) and Griffin (15 months) and a dog, a lively Vizsla – Bennett. During her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, inventing new recipes and can be found most mornings attending Pilates at Plank on Main. As a family, they enjoy traveling, particularly to the Pacific Northwest – since Sarah is a Seattle native.
