Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation Inc. Awarded $1,000 Corning Grant

The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation announces that it has received a $1,000 Employee Vibrant Community Grant through Corning, Inc.

The Community Impact & Investment Employee Vibrant Community Grant awards 60 nonprofit organizations making Corning’s communities a better place to live and work. Employees nominate eligible nonprofit organizations in Corning’s U.S. business locations for a $1,000 Employee Vibrant Community Grant. The Employee Vibrant Community Grant Program is a unique opportunity for active part-time and full-time Corning employees to help create vibrant communities where people want to live and work.

The application for the grant was submitted by Shawn Markham, chair of the Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital Board of Directors since October 2024 and member of the Ephraim McDowell Health Board of Directors.

“I’m very grateful that my application for this grant was approved,” said Markham, a Corning Corporate Fellow who has supported Corning’s fusion glass process in Harrodsburg and globally for 34 years. “Having served on the James B. Haggin Hospital Board since 2020, I recognize the value that Ephraim McDowell Health adds to the community it serves.”
