Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) announced that it has completed 150 procedures using the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution to perform knee replacement surgery that is tailored to each patient with the goal to get patients back to life faster. The Medical Center began doing VELYS knee replacement procedures in June 2024.
Every knee is different, as is every patient requiring a replacement procedure. Surgeons at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center use the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted Solution, a technology that helps surgeons perform a knee replacement with the use of data that’s tailored to each patient’s anatomy. This technology is designed to help ensure predictable results to improve outcomes, increase mobility and helps patients recover faster.
“We have been very pleased with the success of the VELYS technology since we started using it,” said Dr. Jeremy Tarter, an orthopaedic surgeon at Danville Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. “It is a significant improvement for patients and we are excited to see improved patient outcomes.”
