Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation (EMHCF) is proud to announce that it received a $12,000 gift from Kentucky Trust Company (KTC). The donation represents Kentucky Trust Company’s annual gift to the Foundation and will be applied to the Foundation’s Good Works Fund.
“Since our founding 30 years ago, KTC has recognized the importance of the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation and its role in the service of our community,” said Alan Turbyfill, president and chief executive officer at Kentucky Trust Company. “We are committed to continued philanthropic support of the Foundation’s efforts to ‘provide quality and accessible health care, close to home’.”
Kentucky Trust Company is a Foundation Champion sponsor of the Foundation’s activities, including the annual Golf Scramble, Happy Heart Day and Luminosity. KTC was founded as an independent trust company in 1995 and was acquired in 2011 as a subsidiary of Whitaker Bank, a family-owned bank founded in 1978 and based in Lexington. KTC provides trust and investment services across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Whitaker Bank has been serving Mercer and Garrard counties for several years and recently branched into Boyle County with a second branch opening later this year.
“We greatly appreciate this gift from Kentucky Trust Company,” said Laura Richard, executive director of the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation. “With their annual gift, the Foundation is able to fund life-changing initiatives across the Ephraim McDowell Health system, including advanced equipment for our hospitals, specialized programming for children with special needs through Kids Can Do, expansions to address critical community needs such as behavioral health, and the provision of free medications and durable medical equipment for patients who otherwise could not afford them.”
