Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital nurse recognized for extraordinary service

Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital (EMFLH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care.  Dakota Martin, RN, a nurse in the Obstetrics Unit at EMFLH, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award.  A resident of Lincoln County, Dakota has been caring for patients at EMFLH for six years.

She was nominated by a patient who said, “Dakota deserves the Daisy nomination award a million times over. She was truly an angel during one of the most emotional and life-changing experiences of my life. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, she made me feel safe, seen, and supported. She took time to listen to my concerns, explained every step of the process with patience, and never once made me feel like just another patient. Nurses like her are the reason patients feel safe, cared for, and truly seen. She is the heart of what nursing is all about.”

Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day.  Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
