Ephraim McDowell Lung Center welcomes Pulmonologist, Dr. Zachary Wayne Fyffe

Ephraim McDowell Lung Center welcomes pulmonologist, Zachary Wayne Fyffe, D.O., to the practice. Dr. Fyffe will begin on September 8 and is joining Dr. C. Wayne Holley Jr., Dr. David Knitter, Lindsay Ann Knitter, PA-C, and nurse practitioners Krystina Browning and Lindsey Dockemeyer.

Dr. Fyffe earned his medical degree at the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville.  He completed his internal medicine residency at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis and completed his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital and Trey Bowling VA Medical Center. 

Dr. Fyffe is dually board-certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has special clinical interests in the diagnosis of lung cancer, COPD, pleural disease, critical care medicine, and general pulmonary medicine. Additionally, he is a published researcher in lung transplantation, with special focus towards black lung disease. As a pulmonologist, Dr. Fyffe is capable of multiple minimally invasive procedures including diagnostic bronchoscopy, ION bronchoscopy, Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS), and outpatient thoracentesis. 

Originally from Harrodsburg, Dr. Fyffe now lives in Nicholasville with his wife Denise. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, playing music, travelling with his wife, and attending as many UK football and basketball games as possible.
