Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Emmaleigh Davis R.N., a nurse in the Emergency Department, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Garrard County, Emmaleigh has been caring for patients at EMRMC for nearly four years.
She was nominated by a coworker who said, “A few weeks ago while walking through the ER, a patient was brought in who was in obvious distress. Without hesitation, Emmaleigh immediately jumped up from her desk and went straight to the room to assist with the patient, even though she was not the nurse assigned to that room. Her quick response and willingness to help demonstrated the kind of compassion, teamwork, and dedication that truly make a difference in patient care. I had the privilege of training Emmaleigh as a tech when she first started working in the ER years ago. It makes me incredibly proud to see the nurse she has become. She is a true team player who consistently goes above and beyond for both her patients and coworkers. Emmaleigh’s compassion extends beyond the bedside. On more than one occasion, she has made sure that her patient’s pets were cared for while they were being admitted to the hospital, taking the extra time to make arrangements so her patients could focus on their health without worrying about their beloved animals at home. Emmaleigh provides exceptional care, always steps in when help is needed and brings a positive, supportive presence to the department. She truly embodies what it means to be a compassionate nurse and she absolutely deserves to be recognized for the outstanding care she provides every day.”
