Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Chastity Sharp, a nurse on the Labor & Delivery Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Chastity has been caring for patients at Ephraim McDowell for eight years.
She was nominated by a patient who said, “While I was in labor with my daughter, Chastity was the best. She was very knowledgeable, kept the sedation light and provided a fun atmosphere that I appreciated greatly while I brought my daughter into the world. There was a time that there was a question of me having an unplanned c-section and she was able to explain it all and calm my nerves. She was very attentive, took the extra time to assist in any and everything I could have possibly needed and more. She was very helpful and calming throughout and made life much easier. She kept me informed, made sure I stayed comfortable and was very encouraging. By far the best nurse I have ever seen. My husband also commented on how wonderful she was throughout the entire experience. We loved her and hope to have her again with our next.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
