Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Dawn Moore, a nurse on the 3T Medical Surgical Unit, was one of many nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Campbellsville, Dawn has been caring for patients at EMRMC for five years.
She was nominated by a visitor who said, “On day one she answered all of my questions with compassion and empathy when telling me that he has bladder and liver cancer and that steps were being made for him to receive hospice care. The primary concern that I expressed to her was how well my uncle was eating. The second day I visited my uncle the first thing Dawn mentioned without me asking was that he ate his breakfast. I appreciated being heard from the previous day.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities. Nominations can also be accepted online at www.emhealth.org/awards/
