Ephraim McDowell Commonwealth Cancer Center welcomes Bara Alzghoul, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Alzghoul completed his hematology and oncology fellowship at the University of Kentucky, where he also served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine for three years. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Ascension Saint Francis Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, where he served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Alzghoul provides care for patients with a wide range of cancers and blood disorders, including anemias, platelet disorders, and clotting and bleeding conditions. His expertise includes advanced cancer treatments such as immunotherapy and targeted therapy, as well as conventional chemotherapy and advanced molecular testing.

“I became interested in Oncology and Hematology during my training because of the opportunity to care for patients during difficult times in their lives while also providing hope for patients and families,” said Dr. Alzghoul. “I am excited to bring cutting-edge treatment options to patients and work alongside other specialists, including radiation oncologists and surgeons, to provide comprehensive care.”
