Complaints
At Ephraim McDowell Health we believe all patients have the right to voice concerns and ask questions about the care they receive without being afraid their care will be affected.
If you have a complaint, discuss it with the staff member who is working with you. If that person is unable to address your complaint, please ask to speak to the director or manager. You may also ask to speak to one of our Patient Liaisons.
Please bring your concerns to any member of your care team or call the Patient Experience Department between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at (859) 239-1230 or toll-free at (888) 263-6184. If you need assistance after these hours, ask your nurse to let you speak to the house supervisor.

Ephraim McDowell Health’s Patient Experience Department is here to help ensure your experience with us is positive and respectful. Our Patient Liaisons can assist with facilitating communication, helping patients and family members voice their questions, and handling compliments and concerns regarding care.
Speak Up! To help prevent errors in patient care, Ephraim McDowell Health participates in the “Speak Up!” program sponsored by our accrediting organization, The Joint Commission. We urge patients and families to get involved and speak up about any concerns or questions they may have.
