This information will assist those who are visiting patients at our three hospitals. We understand the value of the patient’s family and/or support person being present during patient care. As a result, we allow two visitors at a time, 24 hours a day in most areas. One overnight visitor is allowed. Children may visit (except in the Behavioral Health Unit, with isolation patients or as determined by the nurse) and must be supervised at all times by an adult who is not the patient.
NOTE: Patients who have COVID-19 are limited to one visitor per day.
If you are visiting a patient at one of our hospitals past 8 p.m., please contact Security for an overnight visitor sticker pass. These passes are available in the Registration lobbies at all three hospitals. All hospital entrances are locked at 8 p.m. each night and opened at 6 a.m. the following morning.
Please comply with the following guidelines when visiting:
- Consider other patients by keeping noise to a minimum.
- Refrain from visiting if you have a cold, sore throat, or contagious disease.
- Observe “No Visiting” and precaution signs before entering the room.
- Do not smoke.
- Leave the room during tests or treatments if asked.
Special Visiting Rules
Some patient care areas limit visits at specific times. This allows for staff to provide uninterrupted care to patients.
Our Behavioral Health Unit is a locked unit and allows visitors age 18 or older. Patients in Rooms 4401-4409 (adult population) may have visitors on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Patients in Rooms 4423-4429 (senior adult population) may have visitors on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Critical Care Unit at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center has open visitation between 10:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. Two visitors are allowed at a time, and they may rotate. One overnight visitor is allowed but must leave by 6 a.m.
The Labor and Delivery Units at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center and Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital allow the patient’s designated support person plus two visitors during the laboring and recovery period. Doulas are permitted and do not count as visitors. Children of the patient may visit as well. After a two-hour recovery period, visitation is open to whomever the patient wishes to visit. Visitation may be limited at the discretion of the physician and/or the primary nurse, depending on the patient’s condition.
NOTE: The visitor’s policy is subject to change in the event of a pandemic, disaster or other extenuating circumstances.
