Dr. Hempel is board-certified in internal medicine, having completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Kentucky where his focus was on primary care medicine. He served as the primary care chief resident. Karl has a passion for preventive medicine and providing the most evidence-based care possible. He has a special interest in providing screenings for individuals at higher risk for cancer and other complications due to genetic mutations.
