February 14, 2019 – Danville, Kentucky – Ephraim McDowell Health is sponsoring a free health screening on March 2 at Junction City First Baptist Church located at 3860 U.S. 127 South.  The free screenings will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are recommended.  Appointments can be made by calling (859) 854-3253.

Health screenings that will be offered are cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index and stroke risk scorecard. Flu shots will also be available (ages 12-17 must be accompanied by a custodial parent or guardian).  After the screenings are complete, participants will have the opportunity to discuss their results with a licensed health professional.

Participants should not eat 12 hours prior to their screening if they would like to have the blood test that gives them a full lipid panel.  This gives the participant detailed information including their HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose.  Medications except for diabetic medications may be taken with water.

The screenings are open to the public for anyone 18 years of age and older.  In the event of inclement weather, please contact the church office at (859) 854-3253 to check on the status of the screening.
