Nicholas Spoonmore, MHA, FACHE, FACMPE, has been hired as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Ephraim McDowell Health (EMH) system. Spoonmore will assume his duties on January 30.
Nick is no stranger to the Ephraim McDowell Health family. He previously worked at Ephraim McDowell from 2015 to 2017 as Director of Practice Management, where he oversaw operations of our primary care and specialty care clinics. Nick left Ephraim McDowell for the Baptist Health System, where he was Assistant Vice President of Operations in the Western Kentucky Region before being promoted to Vice President of Operations.
As Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, Nick will provide strategic and operational leadership for planning, developing, directing and evaluating programs and methodologies. He will assist the President & CEO in efforts to integrate Ephraim’s mission and values into the organizational structures and day-to-day operations. He will also work closely with the senior leadership team on the development and implementation of strategic planning and master facility planning across the entire EMH system to produce improved clinical and non-clinical outcomes/results related to service, cost, and outcomes.
Nick earned his bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Indiana University in 2005 and his master’s degree in Health Administration from IU in 2007. He earned a Fellowship in the American College of Medical Practice Executives, MGMA in 2020 and a Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives in 2021.
