Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital (EMJBHH) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Sarita Banstola, R.N., a nurse in the Acute Care Unit at EMJBHH, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Mercer County, Sarita has been caring for patients for two years at EMJBHH.
She was nominated for the award by a patient who said, “I came to rehab for my knee very reluctantly. Sarita’s care and compassion changed my whole attitude about recovery. She helped me by assisting all my needs as a patient but especially my reluctance to be here. She would meet all my needs, was positive, friendly and kind, never rushed, even though the hospital can sometimes be demanding. Lots of old patients who physically benefited from her sweetness and efficient care. If going to a hospital can ever be good, it was with Sarita as my nurse!”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
