Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) has been surveyed by CIHQ and has successfully met the requirements for Disease Specific Certification in Joint Replacement Surgery and Spine Surgery. This certification reflects a hospital’s ability to provide evidence-based best practice to the central Kentucky patient population.
EMRMC underwent a rigorous onsite survey in June. During the survey, CIHQ surveyors evaluated compliance with evidence-based standards of care developed in consultation with industry health care experts and nationally recognized agencies. Survey activities included medical record review, patient care observations, and interviews with both patients and hospital staff/leadership. CIHQ’ goal is to help health care organizations determine and improve performance through the survey process.
“CIHQ commends EMRMC on their achievement of this certification. This certification recognizes hospitals that demonstrate excellence in care and services provided to their communities.” states Richard Curtis, Chief Executive Officer of CIHQ.
“EMRMC was recently awarded Disease Specific Certification in Joint Replacement and Spine Surgery,” said Nick Spoonmore, Vice President/Hospital Administrator – Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. “It is important to our health system that we are able to provide the absolute best care to the members of our community. Our team of Associates and providers did an exceptional job preparing for this survey, and showcasing the high quality and compassionate care they provide every day.”
