Ephraim McDowell Rehabilitation in Stanford Expands Services with Outpatient Occupational Therapy

Ephraim McDowell Rehabilitation in Stanford is expanding access to rehabilitation services by now offering outpatient Occupational Therapy in addition to its existing Physical Therapy program.

The addition of Occupational Therapy provides patients in Lincoln County and the surrounding area with convenient access to specialized rehabilitation services designed to help them regain function, reduce pain and improve independence following injury, surgery or illness.

Occupational Therapist Laura Lynn Smith, OTR/L, provides evaluation and treatment for a variety of upper extremity conditions, including disorders affecting the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder. Services also include post-surgical rehabilitation, custom orthotic fabrication and treatment for neurological conditions.

“Our goal is to provide patients with the rehabilitation services they need close to home,” said Bethany Berry, Rehabilitation Services Systems Director, Ephraim McDowell Health. “By adding outpatient Occupational Therapy in Stanford, we’re making it easier for patients to access specialized care that helps them return to their daily activities with greater function and confidence.”

Whether recovering from surgery, managing a chronic condition or rehabilitating after an injury, patients can receive individualized treatment plans focused on improving mobility, strength and overall quality of life.
