Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center is proud to announce a new partnership with Baby2Baby to provide a complimentary Maternal Health & Newborn Supply Kit to every family welcoming a baby at the hospital. The kits, provided at no cost, are filled with essential postpartum recovery items for mothers and newborn care supplies to help families transition confidently from the hospital to home.

Each kit will be provided at no cost and includes essential supplies to support both the mother’s postpartum recovery and the baby’s first days at home. Items include Huggies diapers and wipes, a receiving blanket or swaddle, clothing, books, a thermometer, a nasal aspirator, Vitamin D3, diaper-rash cream and other newborn-care essentials. Mothers also receive postpartum-care products such as pads, witch-hazel wipes, nursing supplies and nursing pads.
“At Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, we are committed to providing exceptional, compassionate care that extends beyond the delivery room,” said Nick Spoonmore, Administrator of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. “By ensuring that every family leaves our hospital with a Baby2Baby Maternal Health & Newborn Supply Kit, we are helping ease the transition home with practical resources that support the health and well-being of both mother and baby. This partnership reflects our ongoing investment in families across the communities we serve.”
The program complements Ephraim McDowell Health’s continued investment in women’s and newborn services and its commitment to providing compassionate, family-centered care throughout pregnancy, delivery and postpartum recovery.
“Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most meaningful moments, and our team is honored to care for families during that journey,” said Bryanna Sowder, Director of Labor and Delivery at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. “These thoughtfully assembled kits provide items families can use immediately after birth. Knowing that every family receives this support reinforces our commitment to compassionate, family-centered maternity care.”
Baby2Baby reports that recipients of its Maternal Health & Newborn Supply Kits have experienced positive effects on maternal mental and physical health, infant health and participation in prenatal and postpartum appointments.
The partnership was coordinated with support from the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation as part of its mission to connect generosity with programs that improve the health of the communities served by Ephraim McDowell Health.
“The Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation is proud to support initiatives that strengthen the health of our community,” said Brandie James, Philanthropy Coordinator for the Ephraim McDowell Health Care Foundation. “The Baby2Baby partnership ensures that every family begins this new chapter with essential supplies and encouragement. It is a meaningful investment in mothers, babies and healthier beginnings, and a wonderful example of how partnerships can make a lasting impact.”
The supply kits will be distributed through the Labor and Delivery Department at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Families may speak with a member of their care team for additional information regarding availability and eligibility.
