Ephraim McDowell Health is now accepting applications for a health care scholarship for the Fall 2021-Spring 2022 school year. Scholarships are available to high school seniors or college students from Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Lincoln, Mercer and Washington counties. The application deadline is March 15, 2021.
To be eligible for the scholarship, high school students must be in the top 25 percent of their class, have a minimum ACT score of 21 or SAT score of 1000 and have the intent to enter into an approved health care career program at a regionally accredited college or university. College students must have completed undergraduate educational requirements and be accepted into a professional health career program approved by Ephraim McDowell Health to be eligible for the scholarship.
Scholarships to high school seniors will be paid directly to the college or university and will amount to $1,000 for the first semester and renewable for the second semester if the recipient earns a 2.5 or higher grade point average for the initial semester.
For scholarship recipients who are accepted into a professional health career program, the scholarship will amount to $2,000 for the first semester, renewable for the second semester if the student maintains a 3.0 or higher grade point average for the initial semester.
The programs of study that are eligible for coverage are at the discretion of Ephraim McDowell Health and subject to change.
To apply for these scholarships, individuals should print and complete an EMH Healthcare Scholarship Application available on-line at www.emhealth.org under the Careers section and include scholastic records and recommendations from at least two instructors and one guidance counselor/advisor. Completed applications and other documentation should be forwarded to Ephraim McDowell Health’s Human Resources at 217 South Third Street, Danville, KY 40422 by March 15, 2021.
