Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for his extraordinary patient care. Shawn Demaray, R.N., a nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at EMRMC, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Mercer County, Shawn has been caring for patients at EMRMC for nine years.
He was nominated by a patient’s family member that said, “Shawn was my dad’s nurse several days. He always had a servant’s heart. He took care to explain things to us and to talk lovingly to dad. Dad always felt in good hands with Shawn. Shawn never left the room without asking if we needed anything. He had a wonderful sense of humor and such a great bedside manner. We missed him when he was not there. We discussed it and feel he could be on duty 24/7. He is excellent.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
