Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for his extraordinary patient care. Brian Munsen, L.P.N., a nurse on the Medical Surgical Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Brian has been caring for patients at EMRMC for just over one year.
He was nominated by a patient’s family member who said, “Brian was my sister’s nurse. He was very compassionate, caring and professional, communicated well and answered all our questions. He was careful not to cause her pain while attending to her. Brian is so personable and has a great rapport with his patients and their families. A co-worker also expressed to me that Brian truly cares about his patients and it shows. When my brother-in-law had to make the decision to move her to Hospice, he did so through tears. Brian patted his shoulder, told him how sorry he was and left the room with tears in his eyes. Brian is the most compassionate, caring nurse I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I have never met him before this experience with my precious sister. Brian absolutely made our time there with her so much better than it could have been. I thank God that he chose to touch our lives with Brian.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
