Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Elizabeth Hood, R.N., a nurse on Labor and Delivery Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Washington County, Elizabeth has been caring for patients at EMRMC for one year.
She was nominated by a patient who said, “Elizabeth is an exceptional nurse who showed the utmost respect and empathy. She demonstrates a passion for excellence in her job and truly made such a connection with me during my labor of my third child. When I say that I have never received this kind of patient care prior, I truly mean it. I gave birth to my other two kids at another hospital, I was never turned or given techniques to help progress my labor. Elizabeth explained everything, she held me while I cried during my epidural, she was there when I got to 10 cm and started pushing, she was there the entire time until my discharge. She was an exceptional nurse who showed me care and compassion and she made my experience the best I’ve ever had.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
