Ephraim McDowell Health Celebrating Black History Month with a Night of Poetry & Wellness

Ephraim McDowell Health, the City of Danville, and Danville High School are proud to present a special event celebrating Black History Month with a Night of Poetry and Wellness.  This event will feature African American Poet and Danville native, Frank X. Walker.  Frank X. Walker, known for his poignant and impactful poetry, will share his work and offer insight into the role of art in personal and communal well-being. In addition to his performance, Walker will also host a book signing for attendees interested in exploring his published works further.


Dr. Gbolahan Ogunbayo, MD, Cardiologist at Ephraim McDowell Heart & Vascular Institute, will also take the stage to speak on heart disease and its disproportionate impact on the African American community. His talk will offer valuable information on prevention, risk factors, and the importance of maintaining heart health, particularly in communities of color.
