January 11, 2019 – Danville, Kentucky – Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for her extraordinary patient care. Morgan Clark, RN, a nurse in the OrthoSpineCenter, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Marion County, Morgan has been caring for patients at EMRMC for nearly three years.
She was nominated by a patient’s husband that said, “My wife had a leg realignment and was in severe pain. She was also very anxious and overwhelmed. She was sitting in the chair crying, had erratic breathing and was very upset. Morgan came into the room and saw how upset my wife was. As Morgan began talking to her, my wife had a severe breakdown. Morgan got in the floor on her knees in front of my wife. She was very attentive and showed genuine care and concern for my wife. Morgan continued to listen and show compassion for my wife’s feelings and concerns. Morgan spent at least 30 minutes reassuring and comforting my wife until she had calmed down. Morgan was very professional and showed a great deal of empathy and care. I was very impressed.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout EMRMC, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital and Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital.
