Melissa is board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of Neuroscience Education Institute. She began her nursing career in 2011, graduating from Midway College with an Associate of Science in Nursing, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University. It was during her undergraduate education and clinical experience that she found an interest in psychiatric mental health nursing. As Melissa continued her nursing career, her love for psychiatric nursing continued to grow. She quickly recognized the gap in mental health services. This led Melissa to pursue her Masters of Science in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric mental health at Walden University. She enjoys working with a diverse population of clients while holding special interests in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and maternal mental health. Melissa uses a holistic approach in caring for her patients. In addition to medication, Melissa values the importance of implementing non-pharmacological interventions to achieve mental well-being.
She lives in Nicholasville with her family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her four grandchildren, and her Boykin Spaniel. When she’s not at home, you can find her on a side-by-side trail in the woods of Eastern Kentucky
