McDowell Place of Danville Hosting 25th Anniversary Event

McDowell Place of Danville has served residents in central Kentucky for nearly 25 years. In observance of its silver anniversary in the community, they are hosting a celebration and community open house on Tuesday, March 25 at 2 p.m.

Highlighting the event at 2 p.m. will be a ceremony with speakers including State Representative Daniel Elliott, Daniel McKay, president & CEO, Ephraim McDowell Health, and other guest speakers. There will also be musical entertainment by Gift of Grace. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be served along with giveaways and chances to win door prizes.  Tours will also be available.

“We are excited to be celebrating our 25th anniversary of service to the community,” said Susan Matherly, director. “The services we have provided have been very meaningful in enhancing the quality of life of our residents. We invite the community to help us celebrate this milestone occasion.”

As part of the anniversary activities, McDowell Place will be offering community activities throughout the week including:

  • Cooking demonstration with Alethea Bruzek from the Boyle County Extension Office on March 24 at 2 p.m.
  • Time capsule ceremony on March 25 at 3:30 p.m.
  • Lexington Avenue Quartet on March 25 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Master’s Servants gospel group on March 26 at 2 p.m.
  • Family night event featuring music by the Ol’ Elkhorn Pickers Club on March 27 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Social hour “Anniversary Party” on March 28 at 2:30 p.m.

McDowell Place is offering new residents special pricing for a limited time. If a resident moves in or signs an apartment lease agreement before May 1, 2025, the resident will receive $2,500.00 off the first full month of residency. McDowell Place offers five different levels of residences.  Independent living allows for individuals to maintain their independent lifestyle without the concerns of home maintenance.  Assisted living is for individuals who need a caregiver to assist with such tasks as bathing or medication reminders.  Basic health services is offered to residents needing medication administration or assistance with monitoring and medical problems. Memory care is for individuals living with dementia or other types of memory loss.  Respite care is available to individuals who want to see if McDowell Place is right for them or who need care on a temporary basis due to a recent hospital stay or are in need of rehabilitation.  The facility appeals to individuals who aren’t comfortable living alone yet want to maintain their independent lifestyle.
