Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (EMRMC) is pleased to recognize and honor one of its nurses for his extraordinary patient care. Caleb Phillips, a nurse on the 5T Medical Surgical Unit, was one of many nurses nominated for the DAISY Award. A resident of Boyle County, Caleb has been caring for patients at EMRMC for just under one year.
He was nominated by a patient who said, “I was a patient following a severe gastric bleed from ulcers. Caleb did an absolutely outstanding job as my nurse on two shifts. His care for his patients is very obvious in his actions and demeanor. He explained my treatments to me clearly and in great detail, answering all questions that I had very much to my satisfaction. He always asked about any needs that I might have and responded promptly, such as getting pain medications to help me with sleep. His obvious caring attitude and proactive attention to his patients make Caleb stand out among the nursing staff. He is truly a gem.”
Ephraim McDowell is proud to recognize nurses with the DAISY Award, a national program that honors the compassionate care and clinical excellence that nurses bring to their patients every day. Nomination forms for the DAISY Award are available at various locations throughout Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital, Ephraim McDowell James B. Haggin Hospital and other Ephraim McDowell facilities.
