Ephraim McDowell Health’s Community Service Department is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellness of individuals within our six county service area. The department achieves its mission by collaborating with other organizations that share similar goals, providing community education, and offering resources through various channels. Additionally, the Community Service department organizes free health screenings to promote early detection and prevention of health issues. Through these initiatives, the department strives to improve the overall well-being of the community it serves.
Every three years the department completes a Community Health Needs Assessment. This process is a systematic, data-driven approach to determining the health status, behaviors, and needs of residents in our service area. This information is used to identify issues of greatest concern, allowing us to commit resources to those areas, thereby making the greatest possible impact on community health status.
